Ares Management LLC Acquires the Investment Platform of Wrightwood Capital

August 15, 2011 - We are excited to announce that Wrightwood Capital LLC has completed a strategic transaction whereby its investment platform has been acquired by Ares Management LLC, a leading global alternative asset manager with $44 billion of committed capital under management.  Our platform is now part of the Ares Commercial Real Estate (ACRE) team within the Ares Private Debt Group.  The entire Wrightwood platform is moving to ACRE and Bruce Cohen will serve as a Senior Partner of ACRE.  All of Wrightwood’s current assets and sponsored funds will continue to be owned by Wrightwood's shareholders and will benefit from the significant resources and investment expertise that we will have at Ares. With very similar investment philosophies and disciplines, we believe that the two organizations complement each other well.  We also believe that this transaction benefits all stakeholders and validates the commitment they have collectively made to the Wrightwood platform.  Moreover, this will significantly enhance our ability to provide structured lending products and other capital related solutions to real estate developers and owners at a time when the need has never been greater.
